Kimberly Nauta

Kimberly joined the district in 2008 and worked as a part-time categorial teacher at Evans until 2011. In 2012, she began as a TK/K teacher at Wakeham, and then worked as a Kindergarten teacher at Anthony, a second-grade teacher at Wakeham, and a fifth-grade teacher at Peters 4-6. Since 2021, she has served as a TK/K teacher at Warren Elementary School. Kimberly was nominated for this award by a parent who said Mrs. Nauta and her aide Ms. Romero are a perfect duo who share a passion for educating young TK students. She said Mrs. Nauta made the transition from home to school smooth for her son who had just turned 4 when entering TK and was one of the youngest students in the class. She said Mrs. Nauta provides students with individualized support to help them meet their goals and provides parents with weekly updates about what students are learning in class. The parent said her son has grown tremendously, both academically and personally and she is so grateful for the supportive and caring environment Mrs. Nauta provides her students. The parent also said her son has benefitted greatly from expanded TK and she knows that thanks to Mrs. Nauta’s guidance, her son and the rest of the students are gaining the foundation needed to thrive in kindergarten.
