Last week, California State Senator Tom Umberg attended an all-school assembly to present the grant to school librarian Jeanine Cardullo, who wrote the grant application and received a letter of support from Senator Umberg.
“We are proud of Jeanine for taking the initiative to apply for this grant which will ensure Bolsa Grande High School students have access to a variety of culture-rich resources and books,” said Dina Nguyen. “Our district is full of teachers and staff members who go the extra mile to improve the learning experiences for all students.”
Garden Grove Unified School District has a diverse student population with its two largest subgroups including Latino at 54% and Vietnamese at 29%. The district is committed to providing students with an educational experience that reflects the rich cultural backgrounds of its students.
