GGUSD Honors More than 500 Employees for Years of Service

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) honored 536 employees for their years of service at the 32nd Annual Employee Recognition Program on December 3rd at the Garden Grove Community Center. Three GGUSD employees received a special recognition for dedicating an impressive 45 years to the district, and another three employees were honored for their 40 years of service.
“GGUSD is grateful to have hundreds of amazing employees who have dedicated their entire professional careers to our district, schools, and students,” said Board of Education Trustee Bob Harden, who was recognized for 25 years of service. “Our district is known for its unique family culture including longtime employees who are passionate about this community and its students.”
The employees with 45 years of service are Susan Richardson, School Office Clerk at Lincoln Education Center, Steven Mendoza, Instructional Aide – Bilingual Spanish at Russell Elementary, and Esther Solis, Preschool Instructional Aide at Russell Elementary.
The employees with 40 years include Linda Elliot, Technology Support Specialist at Violette Elementary, Lila Jenkins, Director of 7-12 Instruction, and Kurtland Lucas, Head Custodian at Crosby Elementary.
District administrators and Board of Education members celebrated 12 employees for 35 years of service and 48 employees for 30 years of service. Hundreds of employees received pins for 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of service.
