- Friday, December 18, 2020
Newhope Elementary School was grateful to receive a generous donation of $4,000 in gift cards from Second Baptist Church for families in need.
This week, Second Baptist Church Pastor Ivan S. Pitts and Director of Operations Kelita Gardner delivered the gift cards to Newhope Principal Adam Bernstein. The school staff will distribute the gift cards to the families in the school community who are most in need.
“We are exceptionally grateful to the congregation at Second Baptist Church for their generosity toward our school community,” said Bob Harden, Board of Education Trustee. “This gift will make all the difference for families enduring real struggles and hardship this holiday season.”
Second Baptist Church is the oldest African American Church in Orange County and has been serving families in Santa Ana for 97 years.
