Update #2 Regarding Chemical Leak
- Friday, May 22, 2026
We are working closely with emergency responders to monitor the impact of the chemical leak to our school communities. We have been notified that the schools outside of the evacuation area (refer to map below) are safe but out of an abundance of caution we are cancelling outdoor activities for schools adjacent to the evacuation area.
If you are impacted by the evacuation order, a reunification center has been set up at the Community Recreation Center located at 13641 Deodara Dr., Garden Grove (across from Bolsa Grande High School) and there is a temporary shelter located at the Stanton City Hall located at 7800 Katella Ave, Stanton.
Grab and go meals for the families that have been affected by evacuation are available from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at Hare High School, 12012 Magnolia Street, Garden Grove.
As a reminder, schools that have been temporarily closed include Alamitos, Barker, Bell, Bryant, Carver, Enders, Garden Park, Lawrence, Pacifica, Patton, Rancho Alamitos, Skylark, Wakeham, Maintenance and Operations at Chapman-Hettinga Center, as well as Lampson Yard.
